Dean Baquet, the New York Times’ newest executive editor following the abrupt departure Wednesday of Jill Abramson, is apparently not one for Twitter. Baquet has tweeted zero times and is only following 73 Twitter accounts. Media navel-gazers eager to check out the new executive editor were surprised and amused to see Baquet's inactivity.

While Baquet is completely silent on Twitter, Abramson was hardly prolific as executive editor. She has tweeted 30 times from her verified account, with the last tweet posted in October 2012:

Twitter media types have been having fun with Baquet's lack of a presence on the social media site. Former Times Editor Jim Roberts was among those pointing out Baquet's account.
