@aplusk has spoken, and he wants you to stop making an ass of yourself.
Ashton Kutcher tweeted his most direct message yet on the rumors that the Two and a Half Men star cheated on his wife Demi Moore with a 23-year old blonde he met at a club in San Diego this past weekend.
When you ASSUME to know that which you know nothing of you make an ASS out of U and ME, Kutcher tweeted on Thursday afternoon. Previously, he tweeted the song Don't Believe the Hype via Spotify, leading to speculation he was warning his followers of misleading media reports.
The famously oversharing couple's uncharacteristic silence has fanned the flames of the divorce rumors. While many other celebritites ignore speculation about their personal life, Demi and Ashton have long courted the spotlight; and until now, could be relied upon to speak their minds on any issue -- no matter how personal.
Ashton and Demi -- better known as @aplusk and @mrskutcher -- were among the first celebrities to embrace Twitter and harness the control over their public images that social media offers. Since then, dozens of other celebrities have followed suit; and these days, news often breaks on Twitter before the media gets hold of it. (That said, TMZ still often manages to out-scoop just about everyone; although not in the case of Ashton's alleged affair).
Demi Moore has over four million followers on Twitter; her husband has 7.7. million. Both stars use Twitter to communicate directly with their audience, and often with each other; and both must be aware that their followers (and the curious public) are anxiously awaiting comment from one of them about the alleged affair and the breakup rumours.
Neither Moore or Kutcher have mentioned or tweeted at each other recently, and Moore has been silent for nearly 24 hours. Her tweets have been more cryptic than her husband's: Much has been made about a photo she posted of herself with her eyes closed, accompanied by the message: I see through you. And on Sept. 23, Moore waxed philosophical with a quote from Epictetus: When we are offended at any man's fault, turn to yourself & study your own failings. Then you will forget your anger.
Will she forget her anger if it turns out that Kutcher did cheat on her with Sara Lear?
TheDirty.com first reported this past weekend that Kutcher and the young blonde had an affair in the early hours of Saturday morning, which coincided with Ashton and Demi's sixth wedding anniversary.
By Wednesday, the news was all over the Internet, and eager fans took to Twitter for updates, only to be disappointed.
Fox News reported that extra security had been called to the Moore/Kutcher residence Wednesday night while the couple (and presumably their handlers) dealt with 'the issue... behind closed doors.
But the last time there was an issue -- namely, Kutcher's alleged affair with Brittney Jones -- Moore and Kutcher publicly joined forces against their common enemy (Star magazine) and tweeted threats to sue for defamation.
Leal is reportedly looking for a buyer -- with $250,000 -- for her story, but she may actually be holding out for hush money.
Sara is talking to multiple media outlets for a deal. She wants $250,000, but the offers haven't been as high. What she really wants is to get a payoff from Ashton. She has reached out to Ashton's team, a source told the New York Post.
