Activision, the publishing company for the upcoming first person shooter / role-playing game “Destiny,” announced that a beta would be available in the summer.

Activision also said that the game will officially launch on Microsoft and Sony systems on September 9th, confirming the statement in December issued by Bungie, the game’s developer.

Originally, “Destiny” was slated for release in the spring of 2014, but the massive scope of the project forced pushbacks and delays. Bungie is not developing the game just for Playstation 4 and Xbox One, but also for their predecessors.

“Destiny” is the first major effort from the development team at Bungie since 2010’s Halo: Reach, but they play on expanding “Destiny” to a multi-release series.
