After constantly teasing her upcoming solo performance on social media, Camila Cabello had a successful evening on Sunday night when she performed her new music for her fans twice.

The singer hit the stage at the Billboard Music Awards to perform her new single “Crying in the Club.” Afterward, Cabello gave fans a special treat by going on stage a second time, this time on Xfinity On Demand where she performed her second single “I Have Questions” off of her upcoming album “The Hurting, The Healing, The Loving.”

On Monday, the 20-year-old singer chatted with the Elvis Duran Show about how she was feeling about her performances. “Honestly, I’m so good. I’m so happy! I’m having the best time! I gave everything that I had to give onstage last night, so I feel really good about that,” she told the radio host when he asked about her Billboard performance.

“I’m overwhelmed in the best possible way,” Cabello added.

Reflecting on her new music, the “Bad Things” singer explained that she was in a dark place, her fragile emotional state coinciding with her presence in the music group Fifth Harmony, but was eventually able to find herself again.

Cabello left the music group in December for a solo career where she could sing about music that she could relate to. “I was going through a tough time for a while emotionally and I was just lost and I feel like throughout the writing process and especially throughout the past few months I really mean it that I feel like I just found myself again,” she said.

“I’ve found light again and I feel like you can really hear that [in the music],” she added.

Cabello told Duran that “I Have Questions” is her way of speaking to the person who inspired the song. The singer explained that there are times where you are in a relationship or friendship where things end and you are left without closure and instead have constant questions about what went wrong.

When Cabello initially announced the release date of her single and album title, she explained that her music will detail her journey “from darkness into light.”

“I was completely broken during that time, i was in the kind of pain that’s uncomfortable to talk about, and it was the kind of chapter you never want to read out loud,” Cabello wrote in a lengthy Twitter post.

Despite her emotional journey, Cabello was able to make an album due to her unhappiness at the time and revealed that she was actually grateful for her experiences, both good and bad.

“To the hurting, thank you for teaching me that even if at night you take me into the deepest depths of the ocean, i will still wake in the morning. to the healing, thank you for the tears. when they finally came, they tasted like God. to the loving, you are even more beautiful than i remember,” she wrote.

If fans missed out on the Billboard Music Awards performance, they can still check out Cabello’s “I Have Questions” on Xfinity On Demand.
