Since Fifth Harmony released their first album without Camila Cabello in June, the remaining members of the group have promoted their EP and have worked on individual projects. However, it looks like Lauren Jauregui is more interested in a solo career than she has let on.

Although Jauregui has insisted the music group is her number one priority, chatter over Grammys weekend suggest the “Down” singer is very serious about making a name for herself as a solo artist.

According to Billboard staffers who attended several exclusive, star-studded after parties, word around the music industry is Jauregui is looking to spend some time away from her group.

At Sony’s after party at the Whitney, an employee overheard Jauregui was moving to Columbia, leaving the group’s Epic record label in order to release a solo album.

In the past, the “Strangers” singer has said that she and the remaining members of 5H, Normani Kordei, Ally Brooke Hernandez, and Dinah Jane Hansen have discussed the possibility of a breakup but still have obligations to their group.

“Of course we’ve had discussions, and of course we’re all in agreeance. Everyone has been doing solo stuff as well. Dinah just dropped ‘Boom Boom,’ which is super dope. You have Red One, and Daddy Yankee and French Montana and Dinah, they’re freaking killing it,” she told Forbes in December.

Despite their individual projects, the ladies seem to support one another’s solo endeavors, so if they were to announce a breakup, this time around, it looks like it would be an amicable one.

When Cabello left the group in December 2016, it was clear she departed on bad terms. The two parties engaged in a brief social media feud where the remaining members of Fifth Harmony accused the “OMG” singer of abruptly leaving the group, meanwhile, she insisted she informed them of her intentions to embark on a solo career.

5H then hit back, revealing they tried to reconcile the issues Cabello had with being in a group, but she turned a deaf ear to their attempts to continue on as a five-member act. Although Cabello seemingly left the group at its peak, she has done quite well for herself.

More than a year after leaving, Cabello landed her first No. 1 single on Billboard‘s Hot 100 with her song “Havana,” featuring Young Thug. The singer was also one of the acts featured at the Billboard Hot 100 Festival over the summer, and she performed onstage at the 2018 Grammy Awards alongside Kesha.

Cabello released her first solo album “Camila” on Jan. 12 and received positive reviews.
