After a terrible loss, the Knicks rebounded with a solid effort to beat the Atlanta Hawks at Philips Arena, 92-79.

Amare Stoudemire scored 26 points and added seven rebounds, as the Knicks pulled within four games of the Hawks for the fifth seed in the playoffs.

The Knicks overcame a sub-par performance from Carmelo Anthony who scored just 14 points.

Atlanta was led by Josh Smith who has been hobbled with a bad knee, but was still able to contribute 17 points and 11 rebounds.

The Knicks improved to a record of 32-29, while the Hawks' loss drops them to 37-26.

New York played another game without injured starters Chauncey Billups and Ronny Turiaf. In there place, the Knicks got a solid contribution from Landry Fields, who scored 15 points, on six-of-11 shooting from the field.

The Knicks' next game is against the Jazz, while the Hawks host the streaking Lakers in their next matchup.
