Cersei may be taking a walk of shame in "Game of Thrones" Season 5. HBO

Things are heating up on “Game of Thrones” Season 5 as the production crew tries to figure out how to shoot Cersei Lannister’s very naked, and very public, walk of shame from George R.R. Martin’s “A Dance with Dragons.” Lena Headey seems to be on board with this challenge, but the film commission in Dubrovnik, Croatia, is having second thoughts about the scene, TMZ reported.

“Game of Thrones” Season 5 filming is currently under way and on-set reports give viewers some clues about what to expect from the highly anticipated new season. The rumored filming locations in Spain were linked to the Westeros region of Dorne, and the “GoT” crew confirmed all those related casting rumors at Comic-Con International 2014 in San Diego. The Watchers on the Wall community, which has been keeping tabs on production and casting news, first detailed Cersei’s walk in July.

In “A Dance with Dragons,” Cersei finally gets her comeuppance. Cersei became queen regent following Tywin Lannister’s death -- and she rules King’s Landing with an iron fist. First, Cersei limits the power of the Tyrells in the city, angers the Iron Bank and sets up some schemes, such as establishing a new royal fleet and resurrecting the High Septon’s Faith Militant. Cersei’s reign does not go over well: When she tries to frame Margaery Tyrell for adultery, this final plan backfires, and Cersei winds up jailed by the High Septon, now called the High Sparrow. Before the trial, a bald Cersei has to do a penance walk from the Great Sept to the Red Keep, and the public lines up to watch the spectacle.

In “Game of Thrones” Season 5, Cersei will walk from Dubrovnik Cathedral to Sponza Palace, a stretch of about two miles, Watchers on the Wall reported. The scene is set to include 500 extras, who will no doubt rain obscenities on the shamed Cersei. The local film commission has denied a shooting permit to the “GoT” producers as the city prevents public nudity, TMZ said. Producers are believed to be shooting in Croatia at the end of the month while filming in the city of Dubrovnik is slated for late September, Watchers on the Wall said.
