Xbox 360 and Xbox One users will be able to watch HBO’s “Game of Thrones” premiere for free until April 14.

Xbox owners will have the ability to watch the new episode via Xbox Video. Unfortunately, the HBO Go app isn’t available on the Xbox One, though it was promised last year. Cable subscribers will also be able to view the premiere through HBO's on-demand channel during this time, even if they're not HBO subscribers.

HBO decided to make the premiere available to watchers after its own HBO Go app and streaming service crashed this week due to heavy usage.

The American fantasy drama is in its fourth season and was considered one of the most-pirated TV series of 2012 and 2013. The series isn’t available on sites like Hulu and Netflix and it can only be viewed on HBO or through its affiliates. Making the premiere available on Xbox will undoubtedly appeal to a broad audience, and less people will resort to stealing the episode via torrent sites such as the Pirate Bay.

There’s no word whether “Game of Thrones” will be available on the PS4’s HBO Go app, but the series will be viewable to users through the app on the Xbox 360 and HBO Go website. Users must pay for a cable subscription to HBO Go and Xbox users must have an Xbox Live account.
