Lidia Porto as Amara
“Get Shorty” actor Chris O’Dowd said that Amara (Lidia Porto) wants to keep Miles (O’Dowd) on a tight leash after finding out from Rick (Ray Romano) that Miles could have his own life in Hollywood if their film “The Admiral’s Mistress” becomes a hit. Epix

Amara is getting some sort of wake-up call from Rick in Season 1, episode 4 of “Get Shorty.”

In a recent interview with TV Insider, series star Chris O’Dowd said that the film producer façade of his character, Miles, becomes more legitimate in tomorrow’s installment of the Epix series. But even though Miles is adjusting pretty well to his new Hollywood life, cutting his ties to Amara’s (Lidia Porto) crime ring in Nevada is not going to be easy for him.

As a matter of fact, Amara decides to keep an eye on Miles more closely than ever after his fellow movie producer Rick (Ray Romano) unwittingly gets him into hot water with their financial backer. “Amara doesn’t like the idea that Miles could have his own life,” O’Dowd told the news outlet. “She wants to keep him on quite a tight leash.”

Apparently, Amara isn’t the only threat to Miles’ dream of becoming a successful Hollywood producer. According to O’Dowd, Miles’ growing ego becomes a problem when their film project, “The Admiral’s Mistress,” begins to pick up steam and build industry buzz. “He’s definitely getting caught up in the allure of the lifestyle — as everyone does when they come to Hollywood initially,” O’Dowd said of Miles. “Miles is intoxicated by both the success that he’s having and the trappings that come with it. He starts driving a Tesla!”

While Miles is clearly living the Hollywood dream, people around him are unhappy with the recent decisions they made. According to the synopsis for the upcoming episode, Louis (Sean Bridgers) feels left out after he decided to move to Los Angeles with Miles even though he doesn’t have interest in films. April (Megan Stevenson), meanwhile, feels duped after Miles and Louis blackmailed her into convincing her boss at Gravity Pictures to produce “The Admiral’s Mistress.” And lastly, Rick feels uneasy after deciding to move forward with his deal with Amara, even after finding out that there’s something shady about how she runs her business.

“Get Shorty” Season 1, episode 4, titled “From Stamos With Love,” airs on Sunday, Sept. 3 at 10 p.m. EDT on Epix.
