NBC has renewed “The Good Place” for a 13-episode second season, and series star Jameela Jamil couldn’t contain her happiness over the news.

In an Instagram post, Jamil revealed how thrilled she is about the season renewal and expressed her gratitude to NBC and all the writers that make the afterlife comedy series so amazing. The 30-year-old English actress, who plays Tahani Al-Jamil on the sitcom, also expressed her excitement about working with co-star Ted Danson again in the summer.

Jamil also shared the renewal news on Twitter and revealed to her followers that she’s down for a potential romantic arc between Tahani and Eleanor (Kristen Bell) in Season 2. In the Season 1 finale, Eleanor mentioned in passing that she’s into Tahani. While it’s unclear whether Eleanor was just joking, some fans have apparently expressed their interest in exploring the said idea next installment.

“The Good Place,” which also stars William Jackson Harper (Chidi), Manny Jacinto (Jason) and D’Arcy Carden (Janet), was a brainchild of “Parks and Recreation” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” co-creator Michael Schur.

“Mike Schur has always had one of the most fertile and imaginative minds in comedy, but what he brought us with the first season of The Good Place was just extraordinary,” said NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke in a statement announcing the Season 2 renewal of the series. “We absolutely can’t wait to see where these characters go, literally, in season two. A big thank you to Mike, the writers, and cast for delivering a series in which we all take such enormous pride.”

“The Good Place” Season 2 renewal isn’t really a surprise because aside from receiving positive reviews from critics, the show also performed well in the ratings game. According to Entertainment Weekly, “The Good Place” Season 1 finale, which aired earlier this month, drew 5.2 million viewers in live+3. Factoring in a week of DVR playback, episodes of the show’s freshman run averaged 1.9 in the 18-to-49 demo and 6.1 million viewers.
