Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) and Selina Kyle (Carmen Bicondova) patch things up during the first episode of “Gotham” Season 4. FOX

Bicondova) managed to make it on good terms again in the first episode of “Gotham” Season 4, but sadly, things will go awry again not long after.

“[Their relationship] gets mended and then it falls apart again,” Bicandova told Digital Spy. “So it’s just that rollercoaster that they're always on. I feel like Bruce decides to just buckle up on the rollercoaster – he likes to go on it – and Selina likes to jump off and do her own thing... she doesn't like being on the rollercoaster, but she can't help getting back on!”

Thankfully, Selina has Tabitha Galavan (Jessica Lucas) to look up to this season. Tabitha will be teaching Selina all the ropes about fighting in the streets, but their dynamics will change when Barbara Kean (Erin Richards) returns.

“Barbara's gonna be back and as soon as Tabitha finds out she’s alive, she’s gonna be pretty upset!” said Lucas. “I don’t want to give too much away, but Barbara’s a whole new person this season. It’s really not that long before she finds out Barbara’s alive and so that really becomes her focus pretty quickly at the beginning of the season.”

Barbara won’t have the same crazy energy as she did in the past, since she will start her own training with Ra's al Ghul (Alexander Siddig). Richards dished on her new journey with Bustle: “I get trained while I’m going through my dead back to life period by Ra’s to be like a martial arts expert. It’s been so interesting, and I feel like she has so much potential, as in she could end anywhere. She could go back to good, she could go back to bad. I think the great thing about a character like Barbara is that we actually don’t know the end of her.”

As to what Ra’s plans with Barbara are still remains to be seen. But one thing’s for certain - Ra’s is going to make Bruce go through hell this season. “I would say this is the most evil Ra’s al Ghul. This is the Ra’s al Ghul that will do awful, awful, very, very controversial things that I’m surprised they’re letting us do on national television,” Mazouz told Rotten Tomatoes.

“Gotham” Season 4 airs every Thursday at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox.
