When TMZ broke the news that Michael Jackson’s ex-wife Debbie Rowe was diagnosed with breast cancer in July, the outlet reported that her estranged daughter Paris didn’t even know about it. Now, the website claimed that the King of Pop’s eldest daughter has already reconnected with her mom after cutting ties with her two years ago.

According to TMZ’s latest story, Paris has re-established her relationship with Debbie since news of her cancer diagnosis broke last month. The 18-year-old has reportedly gone to Debbie’s ranch, and Debbie has also paid visits to her daughter’s home. The website also noted that the two keep each other updated about everything through text.

Sources told the TMZ that Debbie’s chemotherapy is set to start in September, and she’s leaning on Paris for support.

Paris is Debbie’s second child with Michael. Paris was born on April 3, 1998, joining her older brother Michael Joseph “Prince” Jackson Jr., whom the couple welcomed on Feb. 13. 1997. Eventually, Michael — who was officially divorced from Debbie in 1999 after almost three years of marriage — took full responsibility of raising Paris and Prince.

When the singer died on June 25, 2009, the children’s grandmother, Katherine Jackson, became their legal guardian, as well as the guardian of their youngest sibling, Prince Michael “Blanket” Jackson II, who was born via surrogacy on Feb. 21, 2002.

Although Michael’s brothers Tito, Randy, Jermaine and Jackie told TMZ in April 2014 that Debbie “abandoned” Paris and Prince “many years ago for money,” Debbie reached a settlement with Katherine in August 2009, under which she has rights to supervised visits. Katherine’s attorney at the time stated (via the Daily Express) that the negotiations were “never about money” and the settlement was in the best interests of the children.

Debbie and Paris became very close after Michael’s death. But when Paris started to deal with her own problems a couple of years ago, their relationship reportedly fell apart.
