For humanity to be saved, Tommy (Robbie Kay) and Malina (Danika Yarosh) have to join forces in Odessa to stop the Human Extinction Level Event (H.E.L.E) on NBC's "Heroes Reborn." However, when episode 12 came to an end, Tommy was locked in the "Evernow" video game by Erica Kravid (Rya Kihlstedt). It will now be up to Emily (Gatlin Green) and Ren (Toru Uchikado) to get him out of the game before it's too late in the series finale, titled "Project Reborn."

According to the episode 13 synopsis, Tommy will be up against "his biggest challenge yet" as he is now in a world that not even he can teleport out of. Erica made Hachiro Otomo (Hiro Kanagawa) trap Tommy in the game because she didn't trust him and wanted to make sure her plan went through without a hitch.

However, Emily and Ren are close by and it appears they have a plan to free Tommy. Otomo gave Ren a mission to complete and it has brought him to his destiny, but he'll need some help. Emily and Ren will be searching for Miko/Katana Girl (Kiki Sukezane), who is the only person that can go in the video game to break Tommy out.

Malina with continue on with her mission to save the world with Luke (Zachary Levi) and Quentin (Henry Zebrowski). Her prophecy has always been to save the world, but she can't do it without her brother, Tommy.

Carlos (Ryan Guzman) was last seen rushing Farah (Nazneen Contractor) to the hospital after Farah jumped in front of a bullet for Malina. It's unclear whether or not Farah is going to survive. In episode 13, Carlos is going to have to make a decision that's "life and death."

The promo video for the finale shows Noah Bennet (Jack Coleman) will finally be back for the last episode. He can be seen with Tommy, letting his grandson know that it's now time to save the world. Angela Petrelli (Cristine Rose), Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka) and the Haitian (Jimmy Jean-Louis) will also appear.
