Here’s good news for the users of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 with the model number N8013 (Wi-Fi only). The device can now be updated to a pre-rooted Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean firmware (UECLK8) from Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.
The users will have to flash this firmware through a custom recovery that will let them experience Jelly Bean on their devices. Since N8013UECLK8 Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean is a pre-rooted ROM, all Samsung apps are intact, allowing the users to “get a complete stock experience,” according to Android Jinn.
The report also listed out some important features of N8013UECLK8 Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean firmware:
- Insecure boot.img
- Rooted with su binary and SuperSU app (v 0.99)
- Busybox installed v 1.20.2
- init.d Support
- S-Pen Support
- Multi Screen
- All other Stock ROM Apps and Functions (Learning HUB doesn’t work)
“NO Samsung Apps are removed… the ROM is full STOCK but deodexed,” the report added.
Below is a tutorial showing the process of installing Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean (UECLK8) on Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8013. But before trying out the steps, the users must be aware of some vital aspects:
- All data and apps should be backed up properly.
- The device must have at least 80 percent of battery power.
- Back up the EFS Folder. (Click here for more information)
- The Nandroid backup should never be skipped as it would be very helpful if this custom ROM doesn’t work the way you wanted.
In addition, IBTimes cannot be held responsible if anything goes wrong. The users should proceed at their own risk.
