MSNBC’s "Morning Joe" show’s host Joe Scarborough Thursday compared President Donald Trump to a "kid pooping in their pants." Scarborough and his co-host and to-be wife, Mika Brzezinski spoke about one of their conversations before the show and then Scarborough continued to tease out an extended comparison of the president with a kid pooping in their pants during the second hour of the show.

Scarborough’s comment came after the duo played a clip of Sean Spicer attempting to explain "Covfefe" during Wednesday’s audio only press conference.

"I think you said something before the show that really kind of summed it up," said co-host Mika Brzezinski.

"You know what you said," Brzezinski continued.

"What was that? What did I say?" said Scarborough, momentarily confused.

Brzezinski couldn’t stop herself and said: "Like a kid pooping their pants and then saying I meant to do that!"

Following this, Scarborough went on to give his panel an extended explanation of the comparison.

"Oh yes yes. Well yes. It would be like somebody pooping their pants and then people looking at it and saying ‘oh that’s modern art don’t you understand. I am making a statement against Russian aggression in Crimea. And so this is my statement and if you don’t get it then there is something wrong with you not me.’"

"And we always have Spicy to back it up. Thank you Spicy," Brzezinski added jokingly. "That’s what Covfefe is if anybody wants to know… Pooopy pants."

On Wednesday, trump tweeted at 12:06 a.m. EDT saying: "Despite the constant negative press covfefe."

The tweet was deleted around 6 a.m. EDT, but it had already gone viral by then. Shortly after that, Trump tweeted: "Who can figure out the true meaning of "covfefe"? Enjoy!"

Followers and social media users said it was another instance of the president spelling a word wrong and then covering it up. Trump appeared to have been trying to type "coverage" and misspelled it. Since then the public and media have expressed their reactions to Trump’s tweet.

During the show, Scarborough also speculated that Trump’s recent actions suggested he could be a "hostage" of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Brzezinski said that it is becoming "hard to believe that Putin doesn't have anything on Trump." Scarborough also mentioned a list of actions from the president and the White House, which he thought seemed suspicious.

"They make these decisions time and time again in a way that makes it appear that they're hostages, that he's Vladimir Putin's hostage," he said, mentioning that Putin instructed Trump to conduct the Oval Office meeting with Moscow's foreign minister and ambassador.

"You have Donald Trump in the Oval Office with the Russian ambassador to the United States, Kislyak, and the Foreign Minister, Lavrov, and that picture took place the day after James Comey was fired when the Russian story really exploded. Then he goes in, he reveals classified information. He doesn’t let U.S. reporters in the room. You can go on and on," Scarborough said.

"It's unbelievable. It's hard to fathom," Brzezinski responded to it.
