German fashion designer and creative director of Chanel Karl Lagerfeld is all set to launch a new affordable line The Karl Collection exclusively on luxury retail brand Net-a-Porter.

The collection, to be launched on Jan. 25, 2012, will be featured in five international pop-up store windows by Net-a-Porter in London, Paris, New York, Berlin and Sydney.

Designs for the Karl Lagerfeld collection will include jersey dresses, T-shirts, shoes, handbags as well as denims decorated with a subtle image in Lagerfeld's likeness. In general, the 100-piece range will feature both evening and daywear, including black dresses with plunging backs, silver jeans and vest tops, all with a distinct rock 'n' roll inspired edge.

It's my today's taste and style and a reflection of how I think a great number of people would like to be dressed now. I just want not too expensive clothes that people may like and perhaps want to wear. That was my concept for a long time, but my business partners in the past wanted to be like Chanel or Fendi without putting behind what is needed to be like that, WWD quoted Lagerfeld saying.

Apart from the other creations, the offerings also include the coveted gloves and collar neck pieces that Lagerfeld is so famous for wearing himself.
