The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, is rumored to be feuding with her royal grandmother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II.

According to Life & Style magazine’s July 14 feature “Tormented by the Queen,” Middleton, 32, is constantly in conflict with the 88-year-old British monarch, most recently over her plans to move baby Prince George, the third-in-line to the throne, out of London.

While Middleton and the queen put on a happy face for public events, insiders insist that they have been privately feuding ever since her wedding to Prince William in April 2011. “She feels very embarrassed by Kate,” said an insider who claims that Her Majesty picks on everything about the duchess from her clothing choices to her “excessive spending” and most recently, her parenting decisions. “She feels like she still acts like a commoner,” added the source.

While previous arguments occurred only behind palace doors, sources claim that the royals are now “at war,” so much so that Middleton has moved both Prince William, 32, and Prince George, 11 months, out of their newly renovated Kensington Palace apartment in London into their country home. “They’re basing themselves at Amner Hall in Norfolk,” confirmed a source.

While it is unknown just how long the young family will retreat to the country, insiders suggest that the queen is not pleased by Middleton’s relocation. “Kate’s breaking all the rules, and it’s sent shockwaves through the palace,” a supposed insider told the magazine. “The queen feels its important for William, Kate and George to be based in London, but Kate is completely going against her wishes.”

Despite Middleton keeping her distance, currently residing more than two hours from Buckingham Palace, one source predicts worse yet to come. “Some of Kate’s behavior mirrors Diana’s behavior and personality traits as well, and the queen doesn’t like it at all,” said a source. “It’s going to lead to even more problems between these two powerful women.”

While it remains to be seen whether she will openly break with the palace like William's late mother, one thing can be certain. Middleton is not backing down anytime soon. “Kate will always put William and George’s needs before the needs of the queen,” said a source. “Always.”

Middleton was last photographed attending the Wimbledon tennis championships near London on Wednesday. Just weeks before Prince George’s first birthday July 22, multiple outlets are reporting that she is pregnant with her second (and in some cases, third) child with Prince William.
