Lady Gaga's recent mermaid in a wheelchair performance has angered the handicapped groups, bloggers and also Bette Midler.

Midler, 65, has told off Lady Gaga, 25, for copying her mermaid in a wheelchair performance.

Midler took her Twitter page to slam her for the performance and to tell her that there is only one mermaid on wheels – and it’s her, NY Daily news reported.

I'm not sure @ladygaga knows that I've performed my mermaid in a wheelchair for millions of people – and many of them are still alive. ... Midler tweeted.

Dear @ladygaga I've been doing singing mermaid in a wheelchair since 1980 – You can keep the meat dress and the firecracker tits – mermaid's mine, she tweeted.

Dear @ladygaga if you think a mermaid in a wheelchair seems familiar – it's because it is! You can see it on youtube 24/7 – with ME performing it.

To this day Bette regrets never saying anything in the early '80s when Madonna replaced her as the queen of vulgar without ever crediting her, a source close to Midler told Huffington Post.

Now she's had enough and needed to speak out. If it wasn't for Bette there would be no Madonna and if it wasn't for Madonna we would have no Lady Gaga, the source added.

But, Midler by Sunday was ready to make amends she again tweeted on Gaga’s tweeter page: @ladygaga, let's drink this over at the Emmys in September. Fabulous mermaids can coexist!
