Lady Gaga: From singer to fashion columnist

Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta aka Lady Gaga is all set for her new role as a fashion and art columnist.

In a recent tweet, the star informs that coming month, the star will begin her new role as a columnist for the 2011 edition of V Magazine.

I begin next month as a Fashion+Art Columnist for @VMagazine. + I'll be resurrecting 'TRANSMISSION GAGAVISION' episodes starting next week, the tweet reads.

With over nine million followers on Twitter, the American pop singer-songwriter is regarded as one of the most influential celebrities in the world with an estimated sale of over fifteen million albums and fifty-one million singles till date.

Founded in 1999, V Magazine is an American fashion magazine highlighting current trends in fashion, music, film and art.

In a statement, the magazine said that V are proud to announce our newest columnist: Lady Gaga! Each issue, Mother Monster will put pen to the page, bringing us an editorial window into her fashion multiverse.

However, the Lady Gaga column will not be a common author's headshot. The 'Born This Way' star has asked the magazine to hold an illustration contest each issue to create her portrait.

The winner of the contest will have their illustration published alongside Gaga's column for the magazine.
