Wentworth Miller is reprising his role as Leonard Snart, a.k.a. Captain Cold, in Season 2, episode 16 of “Legends of Tomorrow.”

Executive producer Marc Guggenheim revealed on Twitter last week that the CW series was shooting episode 16, titled “Doomworld,” from Feb. 1 to Feb 10. And during the last day of filming for the episode, Miller was photographed shooting some scenes with Dominic Purcell in downtown Vancouver.

Based on the set photos captured by YVRShoots, it seems that Leonard and his partner Mick Rory, a.k.a. Heat Wave (Purcell), are back to being rogues. According to the website, the scenes filmed during that day involved a heist and a police sting.

Leonard died in Season 1 of “Legends of Tomorrow,” so the Leonard that fans will meet in the remaining episodes of the season is probably an earlier incarnation of the character.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly at the Television Critics Association’s press tour in January, Miller said that he thinks that version of Leonard that fans will meet in Season 2 is a “straight up villain.”

“[I think] he hasn’t gone on that first season ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ journey yet,” the 44-year-old actor said of the incarnation of Leonard that will be re-introduced later in the season. “So when we meet him again — quote unquote alive in 2017 — I imagine that he’s going to be much like when we first met him the first season on ‘The Flash,’ which I’m looking forward to, because it means I get to arc to a completely different place.”

As previously reported, this version of Leonard is going to be a member of Legion of Doom. But why is Mick with him in the recent set photos?

Purcell previously told Entertainment Weekly that there’s always a possibility that Leonard’s return will send Mick back to his old ways. “I don’t think Mick is a good guy,” the “Prison Break” actor said. “And there’s a lot of history [between Mick and Leonard]. Mick loves Cold.”

The air date for episode 17 has yet to be announced, but an all-new episode (Season 2, episode 12) airs on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
