Not long ago, a report stated that the LG G Pro 3 was a pipe dream as the tech giant was focusing more on the flagship device G4. But following the release of the G4, the company has started working on the LG G Pro 3, says Mobi Picker.

The LG G Pro 3 is believed to be a phablet rather than a smartphone, with a large 6-inch display. The display will be complemented by a QHD screen resolution. The device will reportedly be powered by the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC and will host 4 GB of RAM configuration backing its internal components to run smoothly. The device will reportedly run on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. GSM Arena says that a multi-window feature can also be expected.

The LG G Pro 3 will reportedly come with 32 GB of internal storage capacity. In addition, the device will house a microSD card slot for further expansion. The handset is believed to have a 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera unit, similar to the Sony Xperia Z3. However, GSM Arena says it's possible the sensor unit could be the 10:7 Toshiba sensor -- seen in the HTC One M9 -- rather than the ubiquitous Sony sensor. There will also be an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for capturing selfies and video chatting.

The LG G Pro 3 is also rumored to house a fingerprint sensor. GSM Arena suggets the fingerprint sensor will be located on the back of the device, near the camera unit and the control layout.

The device will set buyers back by $790 keeping in line with other large-display handsets that have been released recently, says GSM Arena. The phone is said to be scheduled for release near the end of 2015, but the tech titan has not confirmed the LG G Pro 3 specifications, price or release date thus far.
