“Liz & Dick” was supposed to be Lindsay Lohan’s big comeback when it premiered on Lifetime Sunday, but it seemed the troubled actress failed to impress either critics or fans.

Lohan has been in and out of rehab and trouble with the law ever since she rose to fame with the high school drama “Mean Girls.” She’s appeared more often in the tabloids than the movies.

Although most people wanted the damaged actress to succeed, she was criticized from the beginning when it was announced that the 26-year-old actress would be playing Elizabeth Taylor. The tarnished girl from Long Island could never play the Hollywood legend, many thought.

Still, as the premiere of the cable TV movie neared and promotional photos of Lohan dolled up to look like Taylor were released, some began to believe she might actually pull it off.

Unfortunately, it seems “Liz & Dick” will unanimously be considered a flop, at least where Lindsay Lohan's acting is concerned.

TooFab put together a compilation of “the moments that made us laugh out loud” from “Liz & Dick.” At best, it could be deemed so-bad-it's-good like “Mommie Dearest" or "Showgirls,” the site said.

The day after the premiere, Internet Movie Data Base users rated "Liz & Dick" a 4.2 out of 10.

Many Twitter users lamented that it was hard to see Lohan portraying anyone other than herself with her signature raspy voice and her irregular accent, which was one reason so many people found her Taylor portrayal comical.

Now Lohan reportedly wants to star in a sitcom.

An "insider" told Radar Online:

“Lindsay has asked her manager and agent to look into getting her her own television sitcom.”

“Lindsay feels that the small screen would be a great way for her to revitalize her acting career and that a comedy would be the best bet. Lindsay feels most comfortable doing comedy, and it was Charlie Sheen that told her she should do it. Charlie told Lindsay that it was an easy way to make very good money and help her to get her movie career back on track. Lindsay is loving the idea of having her own sitcom and would love to play someone in a story based on her crazy life.”
