Mother’s Day is for every mom, celebrity or not. As for Angelina Jolie, the actress celebrated the event with son, Pax, over dinner.

As Jolie and Brad Pitt’s split is turning amicable, the “Maleficent” star is in a better position now. On Mothers’ Day, she enjoyed a dinner date with Pax, Daily Mail reported.

On Sunday, Jolie, 43, and Pax, 13, were spotted at the Beauty & Essex restaurant in Los Angeles. Pitt’s ex looked fab and elegant in an L BD with lace sleeves. She complemented her black dress with black heels. She wore a pair of earrings and was clutching a studded Valentino bag in her hand. The actress wore her brunette locks down and kept her makeup to a minimum.

Meanwhile, Pax kept it casual. He wore a black jacket and a flannel shirt underneath it. He paired it with jeans and black and blue sneakers.

Pax, 13, have five other siblings: Maddox, 15, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 10, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 8. Jolie adopted Maddox from a Cambodian orphanage in 2002. She was still married to Billy Bob Thornton at the time and was less than a year old when the “Salt” star adopted him.

In 2003, Jolie’s divorce from Thornton was finalized. In 2005, she adopted Zahara from an orphanage in Addis Ababa. In 2006, Pitt and Jolie welcomed their first child together, Shiloh. In 2007, they adopted Pax from Vietnam and the following year, the couple had biological twins, Knox and Viviene.

In 2014, the “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” stars tied the knot. Unfortunately, Jolie and Pitt’s marriage did not last. The pair split last year and their relationship ended in a messy divorce and custody battle. However, things have gotten more friendly between the exes. They are now in speaking terms and are doing their best for their six children.

“They recently started talking again and it’s a significant step. Up until now everything was through lawyers and assistants,” a source close to Pitt told E! News. “Things have calmed settled between Brad and Angelina. It’s not as tense as it had been. They are focused on the kids and working to do what's best for them.”

Jolie also allowed Pitt to spend more time with the kids. In fact, she’s making things easier for everyone.

Jolie purchased a $25-million estate near Pitt’s home. Her new mansion is only a few blocks away from her estranged husband’s residence. In this way, it will be convenient for their children to see their dad regularly. The “Changeling” star recognized the inconvenience of traveling back and forth from their rented house in Malibu to Pitt’s house in Los Feliz.

Pitt is also doing his best to make up for his kids. Six months from his split from Jolie, the “Allied” star is getting sober and is prioritizing his family. “People on their deathbeds don’t talk about what they obtained or were awarded. They talk about their loved ones or their regrets—that seems to be the menu” he told GQ Magazine.

Pitt also recognized that boozing had become a problem for him. So he seeks the help of a therapist instead of getting into a rehab. “You know, I just started therapy. I love it, I love it. I went through two therapists to get to the right one,” he said.
