Anne Widdecombe does not approve of Meghan Markle for Prince Harry.

Although Prince Harry's soon-to-be wife is getting more and more popular each day, there are still some who think she is not a good fit for the royal family. According to the Independent, one of her naysayers is Widdecombe, who called Markle "trouble."

On Sunday, the 70-year-old former MP spoke with Rachel Johnson in the Big Brother house. During their conversation, Ashley James was applying makeup on Widdecombe when the latter made her comments about the "Suits" star. "I think she's trouble," Widdecombe said about Prince Harry's fiancée.

When asked by Johnson why she thinks this way about Markle, Widdecombe explained, "Background, attitude, I worry."

Johnson mentioned that Markle is older than Prince Harry and has been married before, and Widdecombe was quick to point out that these are negative points against her. "Yes, I add it all up and I am uneasy, but there we go," she said.

After her remarks made headlines, Twitter were quick to express their anger over Widdecombe's comments about Markle. Many felt that her statement against Markle was inappropriate and prejudiced.

"A rather silly bigoted statement; makes one wonder what background she comes from anyways," a Twitter user wrote (via Daily Mail).

"Qwhite a controversial opinion Ann's got there..." another user added.

Markle has been subjected to a lot of scrutiny when her high-profile romance with Prince Harry was revealed. As she gained more attention, she also received more criticism and had her past scrutinized by the media.

For instance, on Tuesday, Markle and Prince Harry visited ReprezentRadio in Brixton. When photos of Markle's look during the event surfaced, her messy bun hairstyle was criticized by some social media users. One even asked when Markle will get her own hairstylist and wardrobe coach, implying that her overall appearance is still not like that of a royal.

"The untidy topknot was not becoming. Ok these two need to grow up they aren't teens or in their 20's anymore. Harry is early 30's and Meghan is almost 40. She can't keep pushing the envelope, eventually the Queen is going to step in and take her to task. We need dignity," one user wrote on Twitter.

The hat Markle wore when she joined the royal family for the Christmas service also received thumbs down from her critics. A number compared it to chocolates and some to a rude emoji. According to Helen Weathers, Markle's hat was a "fashion faux pas."

The scrutiny has also affected Markle's family. Her half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., felt that they are being subjected to criticism even more due to the actress' high-profile romance with Prince Harry.

"It hasn't been easy. Meghan's relationship with Prince Harry has shone a spotlight on our family," Thomas said. "It doesn't help when you have issues and your sister is engaged to Royalty. It adds a whole new level of scrutiny."
