The high-end, third-generation Moto X 2015 is gearing up for release and here is a list of configuration details reported so far. Along with the Moto X 2014 successor, a replacement for the midrange Moto G is also expected to be introduced at the same event.

Hello MotoHK has listed the following configurations on its Google+ page: The upcoming handset will feature a 5.5-inch display with 1,080-by-1,920-pixel screen resolution. However, it is worth noting, earlier rumors pointed to a much-better Quad HD resolution, Phone Arena said.

Under the hood, the Moto X 2015 is expected to be powered by a hexa-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 808) processor. On the software front, the device will run on the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS, out of the box. When it comes to camera specification, there will be a phenomenal 21 megapixel rear-facing camera, in addition to a 5 MP front-facing snapper. Both cameras will have an LED flash.

The device has a microSD card slot for further expansion and a 3,600 mAh battery. In comparison, the predecessor Moto X 2014 comes with only 2,300 mAh battery. Needless to say, this is a huge improvement and Motorola probably listened to the user feedback to bump up the battery and camera units.

The Moto X 2015 is expected to be offered in single-SIM as well as dual-SIM variants.

Motorola, however, has not confirmed the specifications.

Are you looking forward to Moto X 2015? Will the monumental battery and camera units help make the purchase decision? Feel free to leave a comment.
