The end is near for “MythBusters.” The cult-followed Discovery Channel series was canceled in late October, and Wednesday marks the last day of shooting. Star Adam Savage took to Twitter to share a video from set.

“This is the beginning of the end,” he tells viewers. “This is the morning of my very last day ever filming ‘MythBusters.’ By my math we have filmed for something close to 2,400 days -- 2,400 shoot days. This is the last one.”

Savage, 48, goes on to explain his morning – which involved taking a “relaxing bath” and getting some coffee from Ritual before arriving at the cave to put together some presents for the crew. On top of filming the last episode, he’s also got to attend the goodbye party in San Francisco later that night before hopping on a flight to go to New Orleans.

But it’s all business for Savage. His stop in New Orleans kicks off him and co-star Jamie Hyneman’s  “farewell tour,” “MythBusters Jamie & Adam Unleashed!”

The two will be touring 32 cities as part of their new, live stage show, which features on-stage experiments and “behind-the-scenes stories.”

“MythBusters” premiered in 2003 and has tackled myths like Jack/ Rose both surviving in “Titanic” and the machine gun shootout from the “Breaking Bad” finale. The stars plan on using the final season to “look back” at some of their past experiments and take fans on a trip down memory lane.

The final season of “Mythbusters” will premiere on Discovery Channel on Jan. 10. A date for the series finale has not been set yet. Follow Adam Savage on Twitter for more updates on the final day of filming.
