After months of anticipation, Naughty Dog and Sony have revealed the release date for “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.” The fourth installment in the popular trilogy will come to the PlayStation 4 on March 18 and will come with two different editions that fans can pre-order. There will also be a deluxe digital version of the game, which is a first for the series.

Fans, who pre-order the game, will be able to choose between two different editions: the Special Edition and the Libertalia Collector’s Edition. According to the PlayStation Blog, both versions will come with the main game, a steelbook case for the CD, a 48-page art book and some early multiplayer content for an early advantage against other players.

The Libertalia Collector’s Edition will come with a few goodies that the Special Edition will not have -- a premium statue of “Uncharted” protagonist Nathan Drake and instant access to certain multiplayer unlockables. The Special Edition of the game is priced at $79.99 while the Libertalia Collector’s Edition costs $119.99.

Interestingly enough, when Sony detailed the Digital Deluxe Edition of “Uncharted 4,” it was revealed that there would be an extra single-player add-on for the game. PlayStation users, who pre-order the Digital Deluxe version, will gain immediate access to the game’s first single-player add-on once it becomes available.

While single-player downloadable content (DLC) is nothing new to gamers, this is the first time the “Uncharted” series has ever had extra content that was not for the game’s multiplayer mode. Whether the game will get more single-player content has not been revealed yet, but it seems likely that the DLC has been revealed.

Those who missed out on the first three “Uncharted” games for the PlayStation 3 are in luck, as it was announced that “Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection” will be released this October. The collection will come with enhanced visuals and the entire multiplayer DLC that was released previously.

“Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” is available for pre-order on the game’s official site. Both the Special Edition and the Libertalia Collector’s Edition are available for pre-order, along with the standard version of the game and the Digital Deluxe version.
