It was a summer of change for Golden State Warriors with many calling it the coming to an end of “the Dynasty” that dominated the NBA for the last five years. Steve Kerr’s team made five straight finals and won three titles between 2015 and 2019 and they are certain to be considered among the greatest teams to be built in league history.

During the 2019 offseason, the Warriors said goodbye to Kevin Durant, who was instrumental in their title triumphs in 2017 and 2018, winning the NBA Finals MVP on both occasions. But he was still a new member of the group having joined in free agency from Oklahoma City Thunder in 2016.

The Warriors bid farewell to two players – Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston – who were part of the group from the very beginning with the former even winning the 2015 NBA Finals MVP. They were considered the core members of the Warriors family alongside Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.

Only the trio remain as part of the franchise going into the new season and Curry admits that the absence of Iguodala, whom he is close friends with off the court, is yet to truly hit him. Iguodala was traded to Memphis Grizzlies in order to make salary cap space but the player is yet to move away from the Bay Area.

Curry is certain that Iguodala’s absence will be truly felt when training camp begins with the point guard hailing the forward’s impact on the team during his time with the Warriors. He also welcomed the far-fetched possibility of the forward returning on a veteran’s minimum deal.

“I honestly haven't felt it," Curry said, as quoted on Yahoo Sports. "Yet. We haven't been in camp. Monday or Tuesday will be a real shell-shock in terms of his presence being missed and how much he's meant to our team. I've played golf with him three times over the summer. We'll feel it."

Iguodala is not keen to play for the Grizzlies this upcoming season and has reached a mutual agreement with the team that he will stay away from the team and training camp until they find a solution, which is most likely to be a trade. There is also a slim possibility of a buyout either with the Grizzlies or by the team who he is traded to which will make him a free agent and he can then join a franchise of his choice on a veteran’s minimum deal making the Warriors a potential albeit a far-fetched option.

"A lot of if's, man," Curry said of the possibility.

"What?" Curry answered rhetorically with a blank stare when asked if he would welcome a reunion with Iguodala. "Of course, man."
