New York Giants defensive tackle Shaun Rogers’ Miami hotel room was targeted by a thief this weekend, resulting in the theft of nearly $500,000 in jewelry.

Rogers and his friends left the hotel to party at a local club, CBS Miami reports. Allegedly, the 34-year-old returned to his room around 7 a.m. the next morning with a woman, locking his jewelry in his room’s safe. When he awoke around 12:30 p.m., the woman had disappeared. Rogers was staying at the Fountainebleu Hotel in Miami Beach.

After noticing that the woman was missing, Rogers unsuccessfully attempted to access his hotel room’s safe. Next, he contacted Fountainbleu security, who managed to pry the safe open and discovered that Rogers’ property had been stolen. The 12-year NFL veteran has filed a report with Miami Beach Police, CBS Miami reports.

The losses include two watches worth a combined $160,000, diamond earrings worth $100,000, a diamond necklace worth $70,000, gold bracelets worth $60,000, and a gold necklace with a gold pendant worth $50,000.

Over the course of his career, Rogers has been regarded as one of the league’s most effective run stoppers. A three-time Pro Bowl selection, the former Texas Longhorn has played for the Detroit Lions, Cleveland Browns, and New Orleans Saints during his 12-year NFL tenure. According to Yahoo Sports, Rogers earned more than $27 million during his time with the Browns and Saints.

Injuries have hampered Rogers’ production in recent years. He spent the entire 2012 season on injured reserve, before signing a veteran minimum contract with the New York Giants on Feb. 7.
