The BET Awards belonged to Nicki Minaj Sunday night, after she gave a sexy performance of her latest hit “Pills N’ Potions,” and won an award for Best Female Hip Hop Artist for the fifth year in a row. While on stage giving her acceptance speech, she made sure to throw shade at fellow female artist Iggy Azalea, who has received acclaim for her hit song “Fancy” and recently matched the Beatles’ Billboard record, scoring both the number one and two spots in the Billboard Hot 100.

During her acceptance speech at the awards show, Minaj said, "What I want the world to know about Nicki Minaj is when you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it.” And then she said, "And no, no, no, no, no, no shade, um..." while flipping her hair and posing with her hand on her hips as the audience cheered. It has been widely rumored that Iggy has a ghost writer writing her songs, including her mentor, rapper T. I.

Minaj, 30, is clearly unimpressed that Azalea has become so successful, and that Forbes recently said that she is running Hip-hop, especially after the Australian artist dissed Minaj on Twitter several years ago. One Twitter user found a post from Azalea dating back to 2010, dissing Minaj. “LMAO at Nikki saying she did the BET Awards live. Errrr. If you say so girl [sic],” the 23-year-old wrote.

When the post resurfaced, Minaj did not take kindly to it, replying, “Laughing at [expletive] you can’t even do…study dat formula…cornball….LMFAO [sic].”

In response to Forbes magazine saying last month that Iggy Azalea is now running Hip-hop, Minaj said while on New York radio station The Breakfast Club, “Okay, I’m reloaded! All Forbes needs to be worried about is my finances and when I’m going to be selling MYX Fusions for $250 million. That’s all they need to worry about. We rely on hip hop connoisseurs and blogs for that kind of information, so we can appreciate that, but no thank you.”
