President Obama's approval rating may be at a depressing low, but it looks as if celebrities are still enamored of our embattled leader.

The president had dinner Thursday night in an iconic New York City location- the basement of Harvey Weinstein's West Village brownstone. Yes, Harvey Weinstein. You know, the movie producer guy.

There were several stars to keep the basement shining brightly.

Reportedly in attendance were actress Gwyneth Paltrow, her husband, Coldplay singer Chris Martin, and Vogue editor Anna Wintour.

New York City-natives at the fundraiser included musician Alicia Keys, designer Vera Wang and talk show host Jimmy Fallon.

Also in attendance were rapper Pharrell Williams and Aerin Lauder of makeup giant Estée Lauder.

New York governor Andrew Cuomo was also in attendance.

"This is a pretty good looking crowd," the president said to the group.

Politico reported that tickets cost $35,800, according to a Democratic official, and that the first $5,000 of each ticket went to the Obama Victory Fund and the rest to the Democratic National Committee.
