Season 6, Episode 1 Synopsis
There is no waiting for drama in the Season 6 premiere of “Once Upon a Time.” Episode 1 will introduce more characters from the Land of Untold Stories, who will be seeking refuge in Storybrooke. Among them will be the dangerous and unpredictable Hyde (Sam Witwer), who the heroes will have to find a way to defeat. However, that will prove to be difficult when Emma “develops a mysterious side effect.”
Meanwhile, Rumple (Robert Carlyle) will be trying to free Belle (Emilie de Ravin) and his unborn child from the sleeping curse. The synopsis also teases that Regina and her sister, Zelena (Rebecca Mader), will be working on building a relationship. The two will become roommates as they care for the late Robin Hood’s (Sean Maguire) baby daughter.
Think you know Charming (Josh Dallas)? Think again! More of his backstory will be revealed in new episodes. Executive producer Adam Horowitz revealed to Entertainment Weekly that Charming and Snow (Ginniger Goodwin) will get to go on a new adventure to solve questions about his family and father. Plus, Gabrielle Rose will be reprising her role as his mother, according to TVLine.
Cinderella was last seen in Storybrooke in Season 4. Jessy Schram will reprise her character this season, and viewers will also meet her infamous stepmother and stepsisters. The storyline will also rope in Emma.
Emma and Hook’s (Colin O’Donoghue) relationship will definitely be progressing this year. This will also give fans a chance to go back into Hook’s past as he continues his “path of redemption.”
Rumple will successfully release Belle and their unborn child from the sleeping curse, but that doesn’t mean they’ll become a happy family again. “Once Upon a Time” co-creator Eddy Kitsis told TVLine that it will be a “pretty bumpy” ride for Rumbelle.
Frankenstein Is Back
David Anders is going to be back in a guest spot as Dr. Whale, aka Victor Frankenstein. He’ll be in a single episode, just like he was in Season 5.

Jonny Coyne will reprise his role as Dr. Arthur Lydgate, the doctor who handled Alice when she entered the asylum. Although Dr. Lydgate didn’t initially believe Alice’s stories, the sight of a talking rabbit later changed his mind.
