From “Weeds” creator Jenji Kohan, “Orange Is the New Black” is a new Netflix comedy-drama based on Piper Kerman’s memoir, “Orange Is the New Black: My Year In a Women’s Prison.” The series follows Taylor Schilling (from “Argo”) as Piper Chapman experiencing life in a women’s prison because of her relationship with a drug smuggler. The 13-episode series is expected to be released in its entirety on July 11 on Netflix. The show continues Netflix’s trend of developing original content and releasing it in its entirety. Shows such as “House of Cards” and “Arrested Development” have seen success in drawing users to the service. Take a look at the first trailer of the new series.
