Blizzard Entertainment just introduced its newest addition to the characters of its team-based multiplayer first-person shooter “Overwatch.” The new hero, named Orisa, joins D.Va, Reinhardt, Roadhog, Winston and Zarya in the lineup of heroes that act as tank.

As stated on Orisa’s profile, she is a 1-month old Gaurdian Robot that is based in Numbani but does not have an affiliation. The new playable character is made of OR15 defense robots’ parts, and it has the vital role of being the newest protector of the city. The person responsible for the creation of Orisa is 11-year-old Efi Oladele, a girl who has advanced skills in robotics and artificial intelligence. The genius girl created Orisa after buying parts of the remaining OR15 inventory that was scrapped and sold off by the civic government.

Given that Orisa is just a month-old, she still lacks experience when it comes to how she can be of service to the city. However, she is determined to protect Numbani and and her creator at any cost. Besides, the work and modifications Efi did equipped her with adaptive artificial intelligence. Plus, her abilities are nothing short of amazing for a newcomer.

“Overwatch’s” newest hero has several abilities, namely: Fusion Driver, Fortify, Halt!, Protective Barrier and Supercharger. Fusion Driver refers to Orisa’s ability to attack using her projectile cannon with sustained damage. The downside to this ability is it slows down the robot’s movement. On the other hand, Fortify allows Orisa to reduce the damages she gets temporarily. This also prevents the robot from being affected by action-impairing effects.

During battles, Orisa can slow down her opponents using Halt! This ability lets her release a graviton charge that she can detonate once she’s successfully slowed down and pulled her enemies toward it. Orisa is also useful when her allies are being attacked. Her Protective Barrier ability enables her to launch a stationary barrier that would safeguard her and her allies from enemy attacks. Last but certainly not the least of Orisa’s abilities is Supercharger, which basically increases the damage her allies inflict on their enemies.

Polygon recently made a video about Orisa’s skins, voice line, highlight intros, emotes and victory poses. Check it it below and tell us what you think of the new “Overwatch” hero in the comments.
