Twitter has become garrulous with tweeters sharing news about Sony PlayStation Network waking up from forced slumber to enthral users in many parts of the world. A cascade of twitter messages said online games on PlayStation are accessible in the U.S. East Coast.

dartking701 Paul Ian Stubbs wrote: Back online. pJust played lead and gold all by myself. Killzone 3 is loading. No playstation store yet though.

Another user tweeted that service has resumed in the U.S. North East. PSN service now resuming in U.S. Northeast: CT, MA, ME, NH, NY, NJ, RI, VT” # wrote mfxob Morgan O'Brien.

The Playstation Network is coming up across the world! Slowly but steadily it's returning to us! =D, tweeted XaPhobia.

Meanwhile, an official PlayStation update has detailed how to change the passwords and how important it is.

We have been working on a new PS3 system software update that requires all PSN users to change their password once PlayStation Network is restored. The update (v3.61) is mandatory and is available now, the blog post read.

If using a PS3, your password can only be changed on your own PS3 (or a PS3 on which your PSN account was activated), as an added layer of security. If you have never downloaded any content using your account on the system, an email will be sent to the registered sign-in ID (email address) associated with your account when you first attempt to sign-in to PSN. This e-mail will contain a link that will enable you to change your password. In this email, click on the link and follow the instructions to change your password. Once you have changed your password you can sign-in to your account using your new password.

We strongly recommend that all PSN account holders with PS3s update their systems to prepare for when PlayStation Network is back online. The release of this update is a critical step as we work to make PlayStation Network significantly more secure. Thank you for your continued support and patience.

Earlier Sony said some features like PlayStation Store and Qriocity purchasing features will be online very soon.
According to Sony's latest update, restoration of full services across countries and regions will happen by the end of the month.

However, in the U.S.,the restoration will take place in a phased manner and will take several hours before PSN is restored throughout the entire country.

It said the first services to be brought back alive will be online signin for PSN and Qriocity and online gameplay on PS3 and PSP. Other services like Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, MLB.TV, friends lists, chat, trophy comparison and PlayStation Home will also be available soon, starting tonight in some regions.
