President Obama showed that he still has it after a successful night of fundraising in Hollywood.

Obama raised somewhere in the amount of $2 million Monday night, The Hollywood Reporter estimated.

The evening was kicked off with an event at Los Angeles' House of Blues.

What this election is about is everyone gets a fair share, Obama said to the crowd of approximately 800, Reuters reported.

Modern Family's Jesse Tyler Ferguson emceed the event.

The end of 'don't ask don't tell' is the signature achievement of our time, he said.

Later, there was a dinner at the Fig & Olive restaurant, where 100 people each paid $17,900 to eat and have a question and answer session with the president, according to THR.

THR said that dinner guests included will.i.am, Jack Black, Danny DeVito, Jamie Foxx, Gina Gershon, Quincy Jones, Eva Longoria, and Aaron Sorkin.

Avatar producer Jon Landau was among the guests at the restaurant.

I think Hollywood is very positive, he said, Reuters reported. I think they're very excited about what is going to happen next year.
