Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have invited the Spice Girls to their royal wedding.

On Tuesday, Mel B. confirmed that she received an invite to the royal wedding. She said that she was going and that the remaining four members of Spice Girls also received invitations. But why exactly did Prince Harry and the "Suits" star invite the Spice Girls?

According to USA Today, the Spice Girls are a major British cultural export. Aside from this, the groom-to-be has a sentimental reason for including them on his guest list.

The publication noted that in 1997, a few months after Princess Diana's car accident in Paris that caused her death, Prince Charles took Markle's fiancé to South Africa. During their visit, Prince Charles and Prince Harry met the Spice Girls after one of their concerts at the home of late South African President Nelson Mandela.

The royals had a photo session with Spice Girls. In one photo, Prince Harry was all smiles and appeared shy as he squeezed in among the girls. Emma Bunton (a.k.a. Baby Spice) held the young prince's hands and gave him a kiss on the cheek, according to BBC News (via Us Weekly).

In other news, Princess Diana's butler, Paul Burrell, revealed that the late Princess of Wales had suspected that Prince Charles was plotting her death. Princess Diana mentioned to the butler that she feared for her life. She felt that the royal would stage an automobile accident to kill her and remarry.

"Her words were 'these next few months, are the most difficult months of my life. I fear my husband is going to kill me. In an automobile accident. With head injuries. In order that he can remarry,'" Burrell told his "I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here" co-stars.

He confronted Princess Diana about it. She kept on writing him handwritten letters about her thoughts and left it on his desk for him to read the following day.

"She leaves them on my desk so I can read her thoughts the next morning. That is spooky. She predicted her own death nine months before she died," Burrell added.

In related news, Richard Eden claimed that two of Prince Harry's exes are invited to his royal wedding with Markle. Chelsy Davy and Cressida Bonas reportedly received an invite to the upcoming event.

"Harry has stayed good friends with Chelsy and Cressida, so they will be there, one of his pals tells me," Eden wrote. "He made sure there were no hard feelings when they split up. I don't think Meghan will mind."
