Robin Gibb, the 62-year-old former Bee Gee singer, is in a coma in hospital after contracting pneumonia, and a British media has reported that fears are he may die in days.

According to the Daily Mail, Gibb has been in a coma since Friday, and doctors fear he has just days to live.

A statement on Gibb's official website confirmed that the singer's health has deteriorated again and that his family is hoping for the best.

Sadly the reports are true that Robin has contracted pneumonia and is in a coma, the statement read. We are all hoping and praying that he will pull through.

The amount of traffic has caused the website to crash and so it is temporarily unavailable. People are being directed to his Facebook page for further updates.

Reports are that Gibb's wife, Dwina, and brother Barry were at his bedside in a London hospital.

Gibb was hospitalized last year for stomach and colon conditions. Reports are that he has had a long battle against cancer. The Agence France-Presse reported that doctors found a tumor and that Gibb was diagnosed with cancer of the colon and the liver.

The Bee Gee was one of the biggest-selling groups of all time.
