Mitt Romney, who lost the presidential elections to Barack Obama, is fast losing his fans in the virtual world. Romney’s online friends started abandoning the friendship as soon as the former conceded defeat.

According to Disappearing Romney.com which gives a real-time chart of Romney’s declining Facebook likes, the Massachusetts Governor is losing on an average 870 likes per hour since his presidential election defeat.

Romney and Obama had been steadily gaining likes and followers till the election date though the President had gained them at a higher rate.

As reported by Mashable, “Soon after Romney conceded the election, though, his social media followers began dropping quickly. Since 11:30 on Tuesday, more than 55,025 users have unliked the Massachusetts Governor, at a rate of about 847 an hour.”

As of 6.30 a.m. Monday, Romney had 12,042,149 likes on his page while Obama had an impressive 33,252,412 likes on his Facebook page.

Obama has gained over a million fans since the Election Day.

After the Election Day, Romney has updated his profile on Facebook and Twitter twice and once respectively.

He tweeted Sunday:  “From the bottom of our hearts, Ann and I thank you for your support, prayers, efforts, & vote. We are forever grateful to every one of you.” He posted a similar message on Facebook the same day. Earlier, on Nov 7, he posed a thank you picture on Facebook.
