Loved the Samsung Galaxy S3? Now, just wait for a couple months to get blown away by its successor – the Galaxy S4.
Amid rumors surrounding the upcoming iPhone 5S or iPhone 6 and a frenzy created by the newly released iOS 6, 6.1 untethered jailbreak tool evasi0n, a report has hit the web Wednesday claiming that the next-generation Samsung flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S4, will be announced in an event scheduled for March 15.
The report has come from SamMobile, citing a “trusted insider” that Samsung is yet to confirm the event and has kept the place a “top-secret.” However, the South Korean technology giant is expected to send invitations for the event right after the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this month.
When it comes to the availability of the smartphone, the report goes on to “confirm” that it will be up for sale in early April.
“SamMobile earlier reported that the Galaxy S IV will go on sale from the second week of April. Now, we can confirm that Samsung will release the Galaxy S IV from the beginning of April,” the report stated.
In addition, the report indicated how customers in eastern countries and Europe will be the first ones to get their hands on the Galaxy S4 smartphone. "Whole Europe and Asia are expected to receive the Galaxy S IV before the end of April. America, Australia and Africa will receive the Galaxy S IV around May/ June."
The report also provided information on the Samsung Galaxy S4 accessories as well, stating: “The accessories for the Galaxy S IV (Clear Cover, Flip Cover, Protective Cover, Pouch, Extra Battery Kit, Wireless Charging Kit, HDTV Adapter and Headset) are planned for week 15 which also hinted for an early Galaxy S IV April release!”
Last week, a report from PhoneArena stated that the Galaxy S4 could be released in April. The report included a couple of photos of “an internal raffle doc at a New Zealand mobile retailer,” which said all the winners of a prize would be awarded with a Samsung Galaxy S4 handset.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is rumored to have Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean as the operating system. The device is likely to be powered by the Exynos 5 Octa CPU. Other expected features of the handset include Mali-T658 (8-Core) GPU, 4.99-inch SuperAMOLED Full HD Resolution Display with 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (445ppi), 2GB RAM and a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera.
