Is it September 24 yet? “TGIT” fans are counting down the days until their favorite Shonda Rhimes shows return to ABC. While a few more weeks remain, “Scandal” viewers have a brand-new trailer for Season 5 to hold them over.

The promo video features everything that Olitz shippers have been hoping for since the Season 4 finale. From a steamy roll around the sheets to making eyes across a crowded room, it looks as if things have never been better for Olivia (Kerry Washington) and Fitz (Tony Goldwyn). But “Scandal” isn’t about fairytale endings. It wouldn’t be a Shondaland show without some serious drama mixed in. The trailer cuts to an upset Mellie (Bellamy Young), a crying Huck (Guillermo Diaz) and an extremely mad looking Abby (Darby Stanchfield) looking down at Cyrus (Jeff Perry). But it’s the final line of the trailer that will leave everyone talking.

“I’m divorcing you,” Fitz tells Mellie, handing her papers.

Season 4 of “Scandal” concluded with Olivia and her team working to take down her father, Rowan (Joe Morton) and B613. It looked as if Rowan had everyone in his pocket as Olivia made multiple failed attempts to expose B613 for the dangerous government organization that it was. However, in the end Olivia ended up getting the upper hand. Rowan was forced to shut down B613 and assassinate all his agents. With B613 gone, Rowan was just an “innocent old man” named Eli Pope that worked at the Smithsonian. But that still wasn’t enough for Olivia after all that her father had done over the years. With the help of Huck, Olivia was able to frame Eli for stealing money from the Smithsonian.

While Olivia got her happy ending when it came to taking down her father, things fell apart for Mellie. Fitz found out that Mellie had worked with Rowan in order to secure her win for the Virginia Senate seat and make sure that his “Operation Remington” secret never got out. He kicked her out of the house, promising that he would never let her become President after what she did. But that wasn’t the only big shocker. He also fired Cyrus as the White House Chief of Staff.

Olivia showed up at the White House in the final moments of the Season 4 finale, and it looked as if Olitz was back on for good.

“Scandal” Season 5 premieres on ABC on Thursday, Sept. 24 at 9 p.m. ET.
