The actor, who's in Wilmington shooting a film called "The Squeeze," was arrested at the scene and booked at a local jail. He was being held on $1,000 bail. The Wilmywood Daily, a blog covering local filming, said it’s unclear if Wednesday’s DWI arrest will affect the movie's production.

In addition to “Happy Gilmore,” McDonald has appeared in nearly 100 films, television, and stage roles, including the 1998 comedy "Dirty Work." He also recently played a recurring role in HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire.” But to most fans, he's best known as Shooter McGavin, the incredibly arrogant, possibly unhinged pro golfer in “Happy Gilmore.”
