Actress Stacey Dash is now a real single lady after a judge granted her request for a divorce from actor Emmanuel Xuereb.

Reports are that Xuereb was was physically abusing Dash throughout their marriage.

TMZ reported that a Los Angeles county superior court judge signed off on the papers last week. Dash fought hard to separate from her husband. She was locked in litigation for almost two years and first announced her intentions to split from Xuereb in 2010. The two got married in 2007.

Dash, 45, filed for divorce after three years of marriage. The same day she filed for a divorce, she petitioned for a restraining order against her now ex-husband. Dash has claimed Xuereb hot her on several occasions on her face, head and body throughout the marriage.

Last year, TMZ got a copy of the restraining order that was originally signed by a judge on Jan.29 and is still in effect. In it, Dash claimed she was afraid to report the abuse to police.

Dash also said that once, when Xuereb was drunk, he violently held her down to a bed and threatened her, saying it would be the worst night of her life, according to TMZ.

Dash stars in VH1's Single Ladies and also starred alongside Alicia Silverstone in the 1995 comedy Clueless. She has two children from a previous relationship.

Last year, when Dash went on actor Jamie Foxx's radio program, she said she had grown apart from Xuereb. Dash accompanied Foxx to the Oscars that year.
