Ted Nugent will meet with the Secret Service on Thursday, regarding the inflaming comments he made about Barack Obama -- and the rock star said he's actually looking forward to it.

Nugent confirmed the meeting with the Secret Service during a telephone interview with conservative media personality Glenn Beck this week.

We actually have heard from the Secret Service and they have a duty and I salute them. I support them, Nugent said. And I am looking forward to our meeting tomorrow. I'm sure it will be a fine gathering.

On Tuesday, the Secret Service confirmed that its agents were looking into comments Nugent made about the president over the weekend while at the National Rifle Association convention in St. Louis.

If Barack Obama becomes the president in November again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year, Nugent said, I'm serious as a heart attack.

Nugent said he is sure he will have a great conversation with the Secret Service and that the agents will find that he has never threatened anyone.

Bottom line is, Glenn, I've never threatened anybody's life in my life, Nugent said. I don't threaten. I don't waste breath threatening. I just conduct myself as a dedicated 'we the people' activist because I've saluted too many flag-draped coffins to not appreciate where the freedom comes from.

Nugent also said that his family is a totally nonviolent, peace and love, rock and roll, working hard and playing hard American family and that the Secret Service knows that. He did say however, that there are lunatics in the government who despise him.

I respect their duty to investigate, Nugent told Beck. So we are going to have a little barbecue get together and I'm not trying to diminish the seriousness of this because if the Secret Service are doing it, they are serious, they are dedicated and I will be as polite and supportive as I possibly can be, which will be thoroughly. And we will have a meeting ...and the conclusion will be obvious that I threatened no one.
