Crystal Reed is back on “Teen Wolf” Season 5B, but she isn’t playing the tragically dead Allison. Instead, she’ll play an 18th century French woman, Marie-Jeanne Valet, who takes on the Beast of Gévaudan. Though she is an entirely different character, it’s clear that Allison had plenty in common with her ancestor. In MTV's sneak-peek videos, Marie-Jeanne shows off her bravery and her archery skills.

Sneak Peek No. 1

Marie-Jeanne wields a bow and arrow while wandering through the snow-covered forest. “She would be known by history as the Maid of Gévaudan, but her real name was Marie-Jeanne,” Gerard explains in a voiceover.

As previously reported, it will be Allison’s grandfather Gerard Argent (Michael Hogan) who tells Scott (Tyler Posey) and the pack about the legend. They’re hoping the information will help them defeat the Beast again.

Sneak Peek No. 2

The hunter is joined by several men on her search for the Beast. The creature attacks and Marie-Jeanne quickly gets separated from the men with torches, making it difficult for her to know where to shoot her arrows. The Beast quickly takes out the men in the search party and comes after Marie-Jeanne. He even manages to knock the crossbow out of her hands. She is cornered, and all she has to defend herself is a small dagger.

Unfortunately, it seems there aren’t any other ancestors of the pack hanging out in 18th century France. Reed revealed that she didn’t get to film with any of her former co-stars, but she did get a few new actors to work with. Gilles Marini will play a returning soldier, while Lachlan Buchanan will act as an Argent who lives by himself in the woods.

“Teen Wolf” Season 5, episode 18 airs Tuesday at 9 p.m. EST on MTV.
