Nothing washes down a gluttonous Thanksgiving feast of turkey, gravy and pie quite like a TV schedule full of sports. Thanksgiving Day 2014 on Thursday will feature the NFL’s traditional tripleheader as well as a full slate of NHL, college basketball and college football games.

The 2014 Thanksgiving NFL schedule kicks off with an early-afternoon matchup between NFC North rivals, the Chicago Bears and the Detroit Lions. Bears quarterback Jay Cutler will try to salvage Chicago’s disappointing season with a victory, while the Lions’ stalwart defense will look to aid Detroit’s march toward the playoffs.

The Philadelphia Eagles will face the Dallas Cowboys, who will make their annual Thanksgiving Day appearance in a 4:30 p.m. matchup. The stakes will be high, as both the Cowboys and the Eagles are expected to be top seeds in the NFC playoff hunt. Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray enters the game as the NFL’s league-leader in rushing yards.

Finally, the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks will face their archrivals, the San Francisco 49ers, at 8:30 p.m. ET. Neither team has met their lofty expectations for the 2014 season, but both remain within striking distance of the top spot in the NFC West. Look for this rematch of the 2013 NFC Championship game to turn into a defensive slugfest.

College football fans can tune into a pair of marquee Thanksgiving games. Top contender Texas Christian University will face the University of Texas in a Lone Star State battle at 7:30 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1. At the same time, Texas A&M will take on LSU in a SEC matchup on ESPN.

Hockey fans can tune into the NHL’s lone Thanksgiving game between the Edmonton Oilers and the Nashville Predators, or turn their TVs to any of the day’s many college basketball games. A full Thanksgiving 2014 sports TV schedule can be found below.
