Tiger Woods announced Thursday night that he will return to competitive golf next week at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.

The news was revealed via his Twitter and website. "Feeling fit and ready to tee it up at Firestone next week. Excited to get back out there!"

The last time Woods played was on May 12, in which he withdrew at the Players Championship due to knee and Achilles injuries that occurred at game in April.

Tiger Woods' return to pro golf comes after a downward fall of his image and career since the highly publicized revelation of numerous affairs with mistresses, which resulted in a divorce with Elin Nordegren.
