Tom cruise is reportedly “freaking out” about the claims by Leah Remini in her new book “Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology,” which follows her 20/20 interview last month criticizing Cruise and his former wife Katie Holmes, along with Scientology. The report follows claims last week that Cruise was furious with his wife for apologizing to Remini.

“He thinks it’s (Remini’s claims) a major betrayal,” a source told Us Weekly, adding that he may not respond to Remini’s accusations soon. “Leah is what the church calls a ‘suppressive person,’ so she’s evil in his mind,” the source said according to Us Weekly, adding: “He wipes the memory of any SP out of his life. He’s letting the Scientology people discredit her.”

A report by Daily Mail also said that Cruise got to know about Remini’s comments from other Scientology members. “Tom doesn't follow the news or surf the Internet,” a source said, according to Daily Mail, adding: “He heard about Leah from Scientology people.”

A statement from the Church of Scientology last month, after the 20/20 interview, on their website, said: “She (Remini) needs to move on with her life instead of pathetically exploiting her former religion, her former friends and other celebrities for money and attention to appear relevant again,” adding: “Ms. Remini is showing herself to be a spoiled entitled diva who still obsessively complains about such petty matters as her seating placement, limo ride, five-star hotel accommodations… Rather than take responsibility for self-inflicted problems, she is quick to blame others.”

“Ms. Remini is now joined at the hip with this collection of deadbeats, admitted liars, self-admitted perjurers, wife beaters and worse,” the statement continued, adding: “Leah Remini knows the truth she conveniently rewrites in her revisionist history.”

Remini claims in her book that she spent $2 million on training and donated $3 million to the church. She also narrated an incident from Cruise and Holmes’ wedding in Rome after which she was called to Flag, the headquarters in Clearwater, Florida, spent $300,000 on getting “reprogrammed” and had to send a note to Holmes saying: “I’m so sorry I destroyed your wedding,” Entertainment Weekly reported.

She also claimed that Holmes had made a “Knowledge Report” on Remini’s behavior at their wedding, saying that Remini was a “poor example to others.” However, after the interview, Holmes said: “I regret having upset Leah in the past and wish her only the best in the future.”

A source reportedly said last week, talking about Holmes’ apology: “That one sentence makes it clear how regretful and remorseful Katie feels about her time with Tom and Scientology,” adding: “This is the most aggressive she’s been since she blindsided him with divorce papers three years ago. She’s humiliating Tom again.”

“Tom is furious with Katie because he knows, and the church knows, that she has a nondisclosure agreement,” the source said, adding: “Katie agreed not to spill any secrets.”
