It’s V-Day! After months of waiting, “True Blood” returns to HBO on Sunday for its seventh and final season. The season premiere will air at 9 p.m. EDT, but for those who can’t wait we have three juicy clips from episode 1 to hold you over.

Viewers will remember Season 6 concluded with the Hep-V virus spreading and mutating. Sam Merlotte and Bill Compton proposed a pretty wild plan to protect the townsfolk of Bon Temps: a monogamous vampire and human relationship where the vampire provided protection in exchange for clean human blood. It wasn’t an idea about which everyone seemed happy but a majority of the residents showed up at Bellefleur’s Bar & Grill (formerly Merlotte’s) for a vampire-human mixer.

Two of the people not on board with the new game plan were Sookie and Alcide. Leaving the party early, they were confronted by Bill, who offered his services to Sookie. Needless to say, Alcide was not happy and Sookie was not buying. But before the two men could fully argue about who could offer Sookie more protection, they detected the scent of a hoard of Hep-V infected vampires heading toward the party.

Sneak Peek Video 1

The first sneak peek video clip shows the people at the Bellefleur’s mixer covered in blood and inside the bar after the vampire attack.

“Hey, listen up everybody,” Sam says. “It’s not safe here. Those Hep-V vamps could be back any time.”

But thanks to the mixer, Sam and Bill have a plan in place to secure everyone’s safety.

“We need every vampire to take their assigned human back to the safety of their home,” Bill commands. “And there, if every Hep-V negative human could kindly feed their vampire in exchange for their protection, we got a better chance of making it through to the morning.”

Sneak Peek Video 2

The second sneak peek video clip shows Jessica on guard at Andy Bellefleur’s house. The redhead vampire is desperate to make amends for killing Andy’s faerie daughters, but is having a bit of a difficult time.

“I have nightmares about that night,” Adilyn confides in a crying Jess.

“Me too,” Jess tells her.

Despite Jessica’s attempts to right her wrongs, the vampire can’t deny Adilyn’s blood still smells good enough to eat to her. And even though Adilyn is afraid of her new vampire protector, she tells her that she doesn’t hate her for the crimes she committed.

Sneak Peek Video 3

The final video clip from the Season 7 premiere of “True Blood” shows Sookie at the town church giving a passionate speech to survivors of the Bellefleur attack.

“I lived in Bon Temps my whole life and I love this town. And I’ve known all of you my whole life,” Sookie says while Alcide stands behind her. “And even though most of you hate me, I love just about everybody here. And I know what most of you think of me. That some of you blame me for what has happened. And you’re not wrong. I played a part. But we can’t go back to the way things were and I can’t save those who have been lost. But some of our friends and loved ones are fighting for their lives right now and for better or for worse nobody in this town knows vampires better than me. I wanna help. Please, let me help.”
