“True Blood” has hooked viewers since its 2008 premiere on HBO, but all good things must come to an end, and the seventh and final season airs June 22. But not everyone makes it out alive, a new promo teases.
Earlier this week, the official Facebook page for “True Blood” put up posters for Season 7. While the posters acknowledge that this is the final season, they also hint at a grim ending for some of the Bon Temps group.
“Goodbyes Suck,” “Immortality,” “One Last Bite,” “End Of The Line,” “True End” and “Last Call.” In addition to the macabre messages, each photo depicts blood -- dripping, or from a fang bite and in a Merlotte’s shot glass.
“People are going to be dying,” Jason, played by actor Ryan Kwanten, dished to Access Hollywood a couple of months ago. “Some of your favorites are going to not last the season, unfortunately.”
No one knows who will be killed off, but the series will introduce two villains -- Mr. Gus and “The Figure” -- to heighten the chaos.
Seeking revenge, Mr. Gus is a “Japan native who has fully embraced the ‘everything’s bigger in Texas’ way of living,” while “The Figure,” according to website TV Line, is “scary, hulking, ugly, mean and crafty … like Leatherface or Jason Vorhees, but this guy talks.”
Season 7 of “True Blood” picks up where Season 6 left off, with the townsfolk of Bon Temps facing attack by a rabid pack of hep-V infected vampires. A recent promo video for the final season teases major bloodshed and possible abandoment of the town as the number of sick vamps spread.
The 10 episode final season of “True Blood” will premiere at 9 p.m. EDT June 22 on HBO. Will you be tuning into Season 7? Let us know in the comments section or tweet your thoughts to @AmandaTVScoop.
